KRISTIN BUMBERA TO MAKE NASCAR GRAND NATIONAL SERIES DEBUT SATURDAY APRIL 19TH IN HOME STATE OF TEXAS

Houston, TX April 14, 2008 - Texan Kristin Bumbera is ready to welcome the NASCAR Camping World Grand National Division to her home state of Texas but dont think shell be serving sweet-tea to her fellow competitors.  Instead, Bumbera will be competing against some of the toughest and best men in the sport as the third race on the schedule lands in the center of the Lone Star state.  Bumbera will not have far to travel for this weekend's race.  Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, TX is only a couple of hours from her home in Houston.

Bumbera and her TXI-MAXIMIZER CONCRETE #40 Chevrolet are sure to be the hometown favorites.  TXI (based in Dallas) is in it's third year as Bumberas primary sponsor.  Im glad we have the opportunity to race at home in Texas where most of the TXI employees work," Bumbera said.  "So many of the people at the corporate office that we deal with on a regular basis have never seen me race and this is a great one for them to come to.  Our team has worked very hard to make the car competitive and were very happy with it. The car is fast, Im ready and the race cant get here08KB01.jpg (140984 bytes) soon enough.

Although Bumbera has had some experience at ThunderHill Raceway over the past few years it is not her home track as some might think.  She placed second in points in 2006 racing in the Pro Late Model Division at THR with 2 top 5s and 2 top 10s.  This same year she placed 4th in the ASA Pro Late Model Division at Houston Motorsports Park with 2 wins, 4 top 5s, 10 top 10s and became the first female to win a late model race in Texas.  Things only got better in 2007 as she finished second in points in the ASA Pro Late Models at HMP; she led a class of 37 men in the championship for 2 months, had 5 top 5s, 11 top 10s, was honored with the Most Improved Driver Award, and became the first female to lead any type of championship in Texas.  Bumbera did this while simultaneously competing in the ASA Pro Stock Division at HMP for a partial season finishing 4th in points and bringing home 3 wins, 9 top 5s and 11 top 10s.

At the age of 20, Kristin Bumbera is driving for Next Generation Racing, Inc. in the NASCAR Grand National Division this year and also a full season in the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program for Frank Jordans Golden State Racing in the NASCAR Whelen Late Model Series at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA.  The Allstate Texas Thunder 150 will be broadcast live on HDNET and delayed on The Speed Channel.  For more information about Bumbera, please visit www.kristinbumbera.com and www.goldenstateracing.com.
