Kristin Bumbera Continues Her Way To The Top!
May 21, 2007 Houston, TX -

Kristin Bumbera, driver of the TXI-MAXIMIZER CONCRETE Monte Carlo continues her march to the top of the points battle in the Houston Motorsports Park ASA Pro Late Model Division. Due to a full field inversion by point standings Bumbera started in 11th position out of a respectable field of 16 drivers. It was a slow and difficult start for her as she got hung out on the outside. "We thought we were hooking up with a faster car when we made our move to the high side but instead we went all the way to the rear of the field. That was tough, but we knew we had enough time to make it up if we could stay out of trouble." said Bumbera.

And stay out of trouble she did - avoiding several wrecks throughout the race Bumbera made a gutsy charge to the front. Not letting anything stand in her way she methodically took over one position at a time taking advantage of the outside groove when necessary. Bumbera pressured Lloyd Alexander for 3rd place for the final 10 laps of the feature but had to settle for a close 4th place finish in the 75 lap feature. This puts Bumbera in 2nd place in the point standings and within sight of the points leader Eddie Wallace.

But there was no time to rest as this wasn't the only race she competed in Saturday night. Bumbera also drives in the Stock Car class for car owner, James Huff of Huff Motorsports. She immediately climbed from her 2007 to her 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo stock car for another 40 lap feature. Sporting the same number 00 she was on the move again passing 6 out of the 7 cars in front of her on the outside. Bumbera swung by the outside of the final two leaders with a few laps to spare. She took home the trophy for the second race in a row.

Bumbera's next race will be at Houston Motorsports Park on June 2nd where she looks forward to taking over the points lead for the first time in her young career at the age of 19.
